So why are workers still been injured today?
Is it non-compliance of the safety requirement or simply human error?
While injury brings human loss and suffering, as well as reduced productivity and cost in terms of worker compensation, insurance premiums and penalties and fine; the indirect cost to business is many times larger. For example; if the injured worker is unable to work, another worker may need to be trained to do the job. Or a skilled worker may need to be recruited. Then there is down-time for investigations and support for the injured worker.
